TimberWash wood cleaner safely removes dirt, grime, mildew, weathered graying and previous failed treatments (not paint) before applying DEFY.  TimberWash is a powdered concentrate that is mixed with water to restore the natural look of wood.  TimberWash is recommended for use on most woods, including CCA treated, most pines and most cedars.  TimberWash is not recommended for use on red woods or heartwood cedars, as it will darken the wood. Use TimberBrite instead. Unlike chlorine bleach based cleaners, TimberWash is more biodegradable and will not harm wood fibers, pets or most plants/grass.  TimberWash should be used on new wood decking to remove mill glaze and open wood pores.  TimberWash allows DEFY to penetrate up to 25% deeper, providing long-term water repellent protection.

Use DEFY exterior stain stripper; a fast, effective way to strip clear-coat wood finishes & stains (both semi-transparent & solid color).  You will want to  lightly dampen (not saturate) the surfaces to be stripped to avoid excessive grain raising.  Your best application results will be achieved by using a polyester brush or roller.  On vertical surfaces, apply the product from the bottom up to avoid streaking.  You should always avoid application in direct sunlight.  The stripper must remain wet on the surface for 15 to 25 minutes to be effective.  If drying occurs during this time, reapply to the dried area's.  Once the finish begins to lift from the wood surface, you will want to use a stiff bristle brush to scrub in the direction of the wood grain.  Next rinse (always in the direction of the wood grain) with large amounts of water from a garden hose or powerwasher no stronger than 1200psi.  Use of a powerwasher will eliminate the need for scrubbing, however particular care should be taken to avoid wood damage.  Rinse all adjacent area's.  Immediately after stripping it is recommended that you neutralize & brighten the wood with TimberBrite wood brightener, to avoid the possibility of poor coat adhesion.  Allow wood to dry for a minimum of 48 hours before applying a new finish.  We recommend that you apply DEFY wood finish a unique water-based system that protects wood without damaging the environment.
