This high
quality WATER
BORNE Satin
Enamel is an
ideal
interior/exterior
coating for
demanding
applications
requiring
superior
performance. It’s
excellent
adhesion, mar
resistance and
low VOC make it
an ideal coating
for areas of hard
usage. Ceramic
has the toughness
and durability of
alkyd maintenance
paints.
Use- Interior
wood, drywall,
masonry, wall
tile and metal
surfaces.
Exterior wood
trim, aluminum,
vinyl and masonry
surfaces. Durable
enough for
machinery,
generators,
piping and
equipment of all
types.
Material
Preparation-
Stir thoroughly
before and
occasionally
during use.
Thinning-
None required for
brushing, rolling
or airless spray.
If thinning is
required for
conventional or
HVLP spray, thin
with 10-15% water
only. Note:
Certain paint
additives may be
detrimental to
the performance
of this product.
Coverage- Up
to 400 sq. ft.
per gallon
depending on
porosity and
roughness of
substrata.
Tinting- Use
universal tinting
colors.
Surface
Preparation-
All surfaces must
be clean and free
from loose or
peeling paint,
grease, dirt,
dust, oil, mildew
and chalk. To
clean previously
painted exterior
surfaces,
pressure wash or
use strong
detergent or tri
sodium phosphate
followed by a
thorough rinse.
Remove mildew
with household
chlorine bleach
followed by a
good rinse.
Glossy surfaces
must be dulled
with sandpaper
and the dust
removed. Scrape
or wire brush all
loose and flaking
paint, sand to
feather edges and
prime. Caulk open
joints.
Countersink nails
and fill with a
drying putty. Do
not use putties
that remain soft.
Spot prime
putty.
Primer
requirements-
Bare wood, use an
acrylic primer.
If painting
previously
painted surfaces,
no primer is
necessary. Spot
prime repaired
areas using an
acrylic primer.
Metal- Rusty
bare metal should
first be cleaned
to remove rust
and then primed
with a corrosion
resistant primer.
Bare metal not
showing rusting
may be coated
directly with two
coats of Aqua
Borne Satin or
Gloss Enamel.
Previously
painted surfaces
in good condition
do not require a
primer.
Galvanized Metal-
Wipe with mineral
spirits. Prime
with a corrosion
resistant primer
for best
results.
Masonry-
Masonry surfaces
including
concrete, block,
brick and stucco
do not require
priming. If the
masonry shows
signs of
efflorescence,
i.e., the
presence of white
salts on the
surface, these
salts should be
removed by
applying a 10%
solution of
muriatic acid
followed by a
thorough water
rinse.
Caution! Use
protective
clothing and eye
protection when
using acid.
Aluminum Siding-
Make sure all
chalk is removed.
No primer is
required.
Caution! Do not
paint vinyl
siding a color
darker than the
original color or
heat build up in
the siding may
cause warping.
Bare Drywall-
Use an acrylic
universal
primer.
Application-
Stir thoroughly
before and during
use. Apply by
brush, roller or
spray. Do not
apply when the
temperature is
below 45°F (70C).
Mix together
separate
containers of
paint to insure
uniform color. If
unable to do so,
make sure new
cans of paint are
started at a
natural stopping
point such as new
side of building.
Do not apply late
in the day when
the possibility
of condensation
forming on the
fresh paint may
occur. Avoid
painting in
direct sun. On
porous masonry,
pre-dampen the
surface,
especially in hot
dry weather.
Dry Time- Dry
to touch in 30
minutes. Can be
recoated in 4
hours.
Cleanup-
Immediately clean
up with detergent
and water.
